Houston Water Works Team
Houston, Texas
Rated capacity of over 300 million gallons per day (MGD) with a $2 billion project value. The City of Houston expanded the Northeast Water Purification Plant (NEWPP) by 320 MGD in two phases to meet growing water demands and comply with groundwater reduction mandates. The expansion, utilizing Progressive Design Build (PDB) with the Houston Waterworks Team and Civitas, invovled advanced treatment processes, extensive yard piping, and pre- and post- treatment chemical systems. Civitas' role included planning, piloting, design, permitting, BIM coordination, engineering services during construction, commissioning, construction oversight, and operator training. The project will provide high-quality water through innovative design and delivery, ensuring a robust clean water supply for decades to come.
